Drug Uses
Acomplia  is taken by overweight patients. The drug is known to block specific brain receptors and fat tissues called CB1 receptors. It is also used for the treatment of  overweight persons suffering from Type 2 diabetes. The drug is also known to improve triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

How taken
Coming in tablet form, Acomplia should b taken as per the physician’s direction. Generally one 20mg tablet is taken before breakfast every day.

Missed dose
If a dosage is missed, take it as soon as you remember. Do not go for double dosages. Skip the missed dose if it is time for the next one.

More information
It has been found that Acomplia helps in stopping the greediness for food and the craving for cigarette, which help in losing weight and quitting smoking. The drug should only be used by those for whom it has been prescribed. Always take the prescribed dosage, not less and not more.

Warnings/Precautions
You have to discuss with your doctor all your medical conditions before taking Acomplia. Let the doctor know if you have any allergies to a particular food, medicine or any other substance.

The doctor should be told if you are currently being treated for epilepsy, having impaired liver and if you have severely impaired renal function. If pregnant or planning to get conceived, do not use Acomplia. You should also intimate the doctor of all the medications that you are taking as some medicines can interact with Acomplia. He drug can also be given to children and adolescents but the effectiveness and safety have not yet been confirmed.

Possible side effects
