The drug is seen to be effective for treating bacterial infections like tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, skin and ear infections, and STDs.

How Taken
Zithromax should only be taken as directed by the doctor. Well, for complete cure of the infections, Macrobid should be taken. You have to complete the full course for better results or it only increases the risk of the bacteria being no longer sensitive to Zithromax.

Missed Dose
If a dosage is missed, take it immediately if you remember it. Or if it time for the next dosage, skip the missed one. Do not go for double dosage.

Zithromax drug can cause dizziness, drowsiness and blurred vision. These effects can worsen if the drug is taken along with alcohol and some other medicines. Only drive if you feel comfortable after taking the drug. If the symptoms persist, it is better to consult the doctor. Always follow the doctor’s direction.

Before taking Zithromax drug, you have to tell the doctor about your medical history. Tell him if you are on some medication or if allergic to some medicines, foods or to any component in Zithromax.

Though Zithromax is effective against bacteria, it is not effective against viral infections.  Zithromax also has been seen to lower the effectiveness of birth control pills. Zithromax should be given to children younger than 16 years with much cautin.
